Introduction

pr.co provides a PR & Communications platform through a Software as a Service (SaaS) model. At pr.co the privacy and security of our customers, recipients and visitors are of paramount importance. If you are a visitor to a pr.co website or a customer of a pr.co service, then except as expressly set forth below, this Privacy Policy applies to your use of such Website or Service.

This privacy policy explains how pr.co processes information that can be used to directly or indirectly identify an individual (“Personal Data”) collected through use of its website and platform. For the purposes of this policy, pr.co defines the term “User” as an entity with which pr.co has an established relationship, the term “Recipient” as any individual who receives news powered by pr.co’s services or who is included as a contact in a User’s account and the term “Visitor” as an individual that visits our websites (Homepage, marketing pages, but also this Privacy Policy page, example: pr.co).

Any information stored on pr.co’s platform is treated as confidential. All information is stored securely and is accessed by authorized personnel only. pr.co implements and maintains appropriate technical, security and organisational measures to protect Personal Data against unauthorized or unlawful processing and use, and against accidental loss, destruction, damage, theft or disclosure.

As used in this Privacy Policy, “pr.co,” “us” and “we” refers to pr.co B.V. and its affiliates. The “Websites” means pr.co’s websites (including without limitation pr.co, app.pr.co, api.pr.co, news.pr.co and any successor URLS, mobile or localized versions and related domains and subdomains), and the “Services” means pr.co’s communications and messaging products, applications and services, in each case in whatever format they may be offered now or in the future. The Websites and Services are collectively referred to herein as the “Offerings.”


Acceptance of these Conditions

We assume that all Visitors of our website, Recipients of information powered by pr.co’s Offerings and users of pr.co’s platform have carefully read this document and agree to its contents. If someone does not agree with this Privacy Policy, they should refrain from using our website and platform. We reserve the right to change our Privacy Policy as necessity dictates. Continued use of pr.co website and platform after having been informed of any such changes to these conditions implies acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is an integral part of pr.co’s terms of service.

By indicating your acceptance of this agreement or accessing or using any Offerings, you are agreeing to be bound by all terms, conditions, and notices contained or referenced in this agreement. If you do not agree to this agreement, please do not use any services. For clarity, each partly expressly agrees that this agreement is legally binding upon it.


Types of information

Any information stored on pr.co’s platform is treated as confidential. All information is stored securely and is accessed by authorized personnel only. pr.co implements and maintains appropriate technical, security and organisational measures to protect Personal Data against unauthorized or unlawful processing and use, and against accidental loss, destruction, damage, theft or disclosure.

A. Information Related to Your Interaction with pr.co and the Offerings.

Registration and Contact Information. We collect information about you when you (a) register to use the Services and (b) otherwise provide contact information to us via email, mail, or through our Offerings. This information you provide may include your first and last name, email address, mailing address or phone number.

Payment Information. When you purchase the Services, we will also collect transaction information, which may include your credit card information, billing and mailing address, and other payment-related information (“ Payment Information”).

Technical, Usage and Location Information. We automatically collect information on how you interact with the Offerings, such as the IP address from which you access the Offerings, date and time, information about your browser, operating system and computer or device, pages viewed and items clicked. We may also collect location information, including location information automatically provided by your computer or device. We use cookies and similar technologies to collect some of this information.

Third Party Platforms. We may collect information when you interact with our advertisements and other content on third-party sites or platforms, such as social networking sites. This may include information such as “Likes”, profile information gathered from social networking sites or the fact that you viewed or interacted with our content.

Other Information. We may collect other information from you that is not specifically listed here. We may use any such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy or as otherwise permitted by you.

B. User data

You may submit various types of information and data into the Services for hosting and processing purposes (“User Data”). User Data may include, without limitation, (a) personal information such as names, email addresses and phone numbers of your recipients, personal contacts and other users of and visitors to your newsroom, website, apps and other properties, which information may be input into the Services by you, and (b) information contained in communications between you and Recipients using the messaging features of the Services.

It is your responsibility to ensure that collection and processing of data is done in accordance with applicable law. pr.co will not process Personal Data of Recipients for other purposes or by other means than instructed by its Users.

If you wish to inquire about your Personal Data that may have been collected using the pr.co Offerings, we recommend that you contact the entity that created or sent you the information. As pr.co is a Processor, it does not control the Personal Data used or stored in the User’s account, but processes it on behalf of its User. pr.co provides the User with the necessary tools and functionalities for the User to help you with such an inquiry.

If you or your organization are required under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to enter into a contract, or other binding legal act under EU or Member State law, with your data processors, review and accept pr.co’s Data Processing Agreement. How do we protect this information?

The security of your personal information is of paramount important to us. We maintain a variety of appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information. We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide products or services to you or in order to do their jobs. Further, we have implemented reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to protect personal information about you. When you enter sensitive information (such as your password), we encrypt that information in transit using industry-standard Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption technology. No method of transmission over the Internet, method of electronic storage or other security methods are one hundred percent secure. Therefore, while we strive to use reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

 

Information usage

Any of the information we collect may be used in one of the following ways:

  1. To process your inquiries and otherwise deliver customer service
  2. To control unauthorized use or abuse of the Offerings and our other products and services, or otherwise detect, investigate or prevent activities that may violate our policies or be illegal
  3. To analyze trends, administer or optimize the Offerings, monitor usage or traffic patterns (including to track users’ movements around the Offerings) and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole
  4. To provide, maintain and improve the Offerings and our other products and services, including to operate certain features and functionality of the Offerings (for example, by remembering your information so that you will not have to re-enter it during this or subsequent visits)
  5. To allow us to better service you in responding to your customer service requests.
  6. We continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you
  7. To communicate directly with you, including by sending you newsletters, promotions and special offers or information about new products and services.
  8. Your information helps us to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs
  9. Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.
  10. The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional company news, updates, related product or service information, etc.
  11. Your information could be used to collect information to use later on for Display Advertising via Google Analytics.
  12. Your information could be used to advertise online with the remarketing features within Google Analytics, we collect the data to inform, optimise and serve ads based on someone's past visits to your website.

 

Sharing information with third parties

We do not sell, trade, share or transfer your personal information to third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  1. We may share your personal information with our parent companies, subsidiaries and affiliates;
  2. We may share your personal information with third-party service providers to permit such parties to provide services that help us with our business activities, which may include assisting us with marketing, advertising our product/service offerings, or providing, maintaining and improving the features and functionality of the Offerings, among other things. For example, we may provide personal information to our service providers for direct emailing of our newsletters or notifications of our product/service offerings;
  3. We may share your personal information when we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce a Customer Agreement, including investigation of potential violations thereof, or (c) protect against imminent harm to our rights, property or safety, or that of our users or the public as required or permitted by law;
  4. We may share your personal information with third parties (including our service providers and government entities) to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud or security or technical issues;
  5. We may share your personal information with our business partners who offer a service to you jointly with us, for example when running a cross-promotion;
  6. We may share your Payment Information to process your payments. When you make a purchase on the Offerings, any credit card information you provide as part of your Payment Information is collected and processed directly by our payment processor Chargebee. We never receive or store your full credit card information. Chargebee commits to complying with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) and using industry standard security. Chargebee may use your Payment Information in accordance with their own Privacy Policy here: https://www.chargebee.com/privacy/.
  7. We may share and/or transfer your personal information if we become involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or any form of sale of some or all of our assets; and
  8. We may share your personal information with a third party if we have your consent to do so.
  9. We periodically appoint digital marketing agents to conduct marketing activity on our behalf, such activity may result in the compliant processing of personal information. Our appointed data processors include:

Accessing and Updating Your Personal Information

When you use the Offerings, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information upon your request and either provide you the means to correct this information if it is inaccurate or to delete such information at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes. You may access, review, correct, update, change or delete your information at any time. To do so, please contact us at hello@pr.co with your name and the information requested to be accessed, corrected or removed, or if you are using the Service, sign in to your account, go to your profile, and make the desired changes. We may decline to process requests that are unreasonably repetitive or systematic, require disproportionate technical effort (for instance, requests concerning information residing on backup tapes), jeopardize the privacy of others, would be extremely impractical, or for which access is not otherwise required. In any case where we provide information access, correction and deletion, we perform this service free of charge.

Please note that if you cease using the Service or we terminate your access to the Service in accordance with your Terms of Service, you may no longer have the ability to access or update your information.

We will not retain data longer than is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected or as required by applicable laws or regulations. For Recipient data, our Users have control of the purpose for collecting data, and the duration for which the Personal Data may be kept. For Recipient data, Users with an active account will therefore have the responsibility to delete data when required. When a user’s account is terminated or expired, all Personal Data collected through the platform will be deleted, as required by applicable law.

We may retain your information as necessary to support the Offerings, comply with our legal obligations or resolve disputes. Note that content you post may remain on the Offerings even if you cease using the Offerings or we terminate your access to the Offerings.

 

Cookies

Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computer's hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the site's or service provider's systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. For instance, we use cookies to help us remember the account you’re logged in with, so that you don’t have to login every time you want to use pr.co. They are also used to help us understand your preferences based on previous or current site activity, which enables us to provide you with improved services. We also use cookies to help us compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

No Children Under Age 13

The Offerings are not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13, nor does pr.co knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under 13, you may not attempt to register for the Offerings or send any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, or email address. In the event that we confirm that we have collected personal information from someone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you are a parent or legal guardian of a child under 13 and believe that we might have any information from or about such child, please contact us at the email or mailing address provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.

 

Our Legal Obligation to Disclose Personal Information

We will reveal a User’s personal information without his/her prior permission only when we have reason to believe that the disclosure of this information is required to establish the identity of, to contact or to initiate legal proceedings against a person or persons who are suspected of infringing rights or property belonging to pr.co or to others who could be harmed by the User’s activities or of persons who could (deliberately or otherwise) transgress upon these rights and property. We are permitted to disclose personal information when we have good reason to believe that this is legally required.
